Multi-platinum, recording artist Bryan Adams has announced his return to select cities in Western Canada, including Penticton, this November with The Get Up Tour.

The tour, which is coming to the South Okanagan Events Centre on Nov. 17, will be in support of his 13th studio album Get Up. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 from www.livenation.com

Get Up is a body of work that Adams is truly proud of and with multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer Jeff Lynne (The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Randy Newman, Traveling Wilburys) at the helm shaping the record, Get Up sits nicely alongside Adams’ earlier classics.

Adams has spent the last three decades making music history. He has sold upward of 65 million records, toured six continents and achieved No.1 status in over 40 countries around the world.

A survey conducted by Insights West recently asked British Columbians if they like or dislike 85 different Canadian singers, groups and bands. The result showed Adams is the most universally liked Canadian musician in the province. The poll saw 82 per cent saying they liked Bryan Adams, giving him a “momentum” score of +72 after the 10 per cent who disliked him were subtracted.

The legendary B.C. rocker beat out Sarah McLachlan’s +62 score, followed by the Barenaked Ladies at +62, Michael Buble also with +62 and Shania Twain with +61.

On the other end of the spectrum, only one artist got a negative overall score. About a third of British Columbians (34 per cent) say they like Justin Bieber, but more than half (58 per cent) say they dislike him, earning the artist a momentum score of -24.

Adams performed in Vernon in 2014 on his Bare Bones Tour, which sold out in less than an hour. He also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the multi-million selling album Reckless with an anniversary tour that stopped in Kelowna in 2015.

Adams has been awarded the Order of Canada, has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and has a Star on Canada's Walk of Fame. Adams has been nominated for, and won several Academy Awards, Golden Globes and Grammy's, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been inducted into Wembley's Square of Fame.
