Kelowna RCMP’s Target Team recovered two stolen motorcycles during a traffic stop near the end of May.

Officer observed a motorcycle in the area of Banks Road and after stopping the bike, determined it had been freshly painted, and confirmed it was stolen.

The driver was arrest and later released and will appear in court to appear June 13. A 35-year old man has been charged with possession of stolen property and driving while prohibited.

On May 28, another member of the Target Team observed a suspicious individual starting a dirt bike in a downtown residential area before heading towards Highway 97.

Officers determined the bike was recently stolen and stopped the rider shortly afterwards. Police recommend charges of possession of stolen property, and break-in tools, along with several driving offences.

“This will remain a large part of our commitment to reducing property theft in our community along with putting repeat offenders before the courts,” said Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay with the Target Team.
