Update 3:18 p.m.
A grass fire in Kelowna's south end has been knocked down by fire crews.
The blaze was called in just before 3 p.m. behind 1280 DeHart Road.
Strong winds caused a rapid spread of the fire, but the Kelowna Fire Department was able to pump water on the flames and extinguish the fire before it got too far out of control.

The Kelowna Fire Department is responding to a grass fire near Swamp and Hughes roads in the south end of the city.
The fire is estimated to be around 40 square metres.
