With only two weekends left to film, edit and submit; time is of the essence for film makers to submit to the third annual ReelPeachfest Film Festival.
As part of the Penticton’s Peach Festival Aug. 9 to 13, each night before the main act goes on stage, one to three minute short films on Okanagan liquid libations or Okanagan experiences entertain the crowd.
“The deadline for submissions is Aug. 6 at midnight, so we don’t really know how many submissions will come in until the cut-off, which makes organizing the event somewhat stressful,” said organizer Andrew Jakubeit. “We are pushing for more creative mini-epics about the Okanagan versus corporate infomercials. We are starting to get submissions and so far there are some impressive entries.”

First prize is $1,000 dollars plus a weekend getaway to the Penticton Lakeside Resort, second prize is $500, third prize is $250 and fan favorite is $250. Online voting for fan favorite opens Aug. 9 and closes Aug. 12.
