Summer Arts Scene call for volunteers

In light of the enthusiastic response for enrolment, SASFY needs volunteers.

Summer Arts Scene for Youth (SASFY), is busy preparing for its second annual summer workshops series designed to ignite youth passion in the arts. Doors will open once again at George Elliot Secondary School and Creekside Theatre on August 8-13, 2011 to welcome youth, primarily ages 9-15, to participate in 12 workshops covering a diverse variety of arts disciplines. Registration has already surpassed last year’s student quota. Thanks to a generous grant from the community, 25 partial sponsorship spots are available for deserving students.

In light of the enthusiastic response for enrolment, SASFY needs volunteers to assist in the following areas:  preparation and clean-up, meet and greet, registration, serving food.

Do you have a love for the arts, any experience being involved with arts and culture events, and believe in a worthy and passionate cause for youth and educational arts excellence in our community?  Please contact us and share in the reward of helping youth to succeed in achieving their potential. Volunteers are needed at various times of day and there Is sure to be a place to fit into your schedule.

A warm welcome is also open to anybody interested in joining our dedicated Board, a great team of enthusiastic hard working volunteers who are committed to work together to further develop the unique SASFY inter-connection of the arts summer experience for youth.
