Pub raises funds for prostate cancer research

Lake Country - Turtle Bay Pub is fundraising as part of Pubs for Prostate across B.C.

A Lake Country pub is fundraising for prostate cancer research.

Turtle Bay Pub is participating in Pubs for Prostate which fundraises for the Prostate Cancer Foundation B.C. For every pint and jug of Okanagan Spring Pale Ale sold, $1 will be donated to the foundation during November. Funds raised stay within B.C. for research, support, and awareness initiatives, according to the foundation.

Pubs for Prostate is taking place across British Columbia. Supporting pubs and restaurants will donate proceeds from the sales of select menu items or by hosting events. To find a participating venue and for further details visit http://www.pubsforprostate.ca/participating-pubs.

Prostate cancer is the most prevalent cancer affecting men, with one in seven being diagnosed in their lifetime, according to the foundation. With no known cause or prevention, early detection provides the best chance for a complete cure.
