Thousands of people gathered in Kelowna on June 8, to continue a week of celebrating inclusivity and acceptance.
The 17th annual Pride march, an event for everyone to attend and to celebrate the 2SLBGTQIA+ community, took place on Saturday morning, starting at Stuart Park. After everyone assembled and speeches were made, everyone marched across downtown, eventually arriving at City Park for the Pride festival.
At the festival, people in attendance danced to live music and had their selection of food from various food trucks. There were also many local and corporate companies with tents and set-ups with giveaways and items to purchase.
The march and festival represent one of the main events of Pride Week and is organized by not-for-profit organization Kelowna Pride.
