There’s an opportunity for young professionals to network while having some fun.

JCI Vernon and BDO Canada will host the second annual Lawn Days of Summer lawn bowling tournament Aug. 9, 16 and 23 at the Vernon Lawn Bowling Club in Polson Park.

“The event is fresh and unique to the North Okanagan, and we’re confident it will be bigger and better than last year, and will quickly become a much anticipated yearly event in Vernon,” said Markus Schrott, a BDO partner.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association’s workplace mental health program, which acknowledges mental health in the workplace.

“After an extremely successful event in 2016, I’m super excited to help present this fantastic social community event with JCI,” said Danielle Fox, event co-chairperson.

“I strongly believe in helping our community and the power of networking. The event has both, and as a bonus we are helping the Vernon Lawn Bowling Club promote a fun and social game that’s in need of new players.”

Entry to the tournament is $300 for a team of four, with two spares suggested. There will be fun games, tournament prizes and a raffle draw for items donated by local businesses. There are only 12 team spaces and they will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
