After a long and arduous approval process, Focus College was granted their Approved Centre status through the Scottish Qualifications Authority.

As the first and only approved centre in all of Canada, Focus College will soon start enrolling students in both the Higher National Diploma (HND) Business Management Program and the Higher National Diploma (HND) Software Development Program.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority is the executive non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government responsible for accrediting educational awards. It sits at the heart of Scotland’s world-renowned education system by providing a wide range of high quality, internationally recognized qualifications and associated services.

President Sajjad Ali of Focus College said “I took on the challenge of going through the vigorous process of SQA Accreditation because I believe it is very beneficial for Canadians to have access to a globally recognized and standardized qualification. I see SQA as a game changer, particularly in the Canadian Private Post-Secondary Education sector. I wanted Focus to be the pioneer college in introducing the standardized qualification to the people of BC and Canada.”

Three SQA representatives will be visiting Focus College April 24 to 26 to provide training on curriculum delivery and marketing to Focus staff. The college will be hosting an event on Tuesday, April 25 at 10 a.m. at their campus for guests, local dignitaries, and the media.
