Since its early beginnings at Holiday Park Resort, ArtWalk has impressed the crowds that turn out for the annual show. Eighteen years later the enthusiasm for the show has only grown.
For the artists it’s a great opportunity for exposure with thousands of people flocking through the doors during the course of the two day event.
“It was a lot of work to get myself ready for this weekend but I’m getting alot of really good comments which is nice,” said Peggy Stel, a Penticton based artist who was attending ArtWalk for the first time as an exhibitor.
The compliments were not directed at the artists alone either.
“It’s such a great event for the community.”
“I can’t believe the amount of talent they’ve managed to bring together all in one place.”
That was the sort of chatter that buzzed through the air as the attendees meandered through the exhibits.
An event of this scale doesnt go off without alot of planning and it won’t be long now before arrangements are underway to carry on the tradition of making next year’s show bigger and better.
