The Kelowna Rockets will look to make the most use of their almost week off when they host two of the best Western Conference teams in back to back nights this weekend. The Everett Silvertips, who lead the Western Conference, will play Kelowna Friday night, and Vancouver, who lead’s the B.C. division, comes to Kelowna Saturday night.

Rockets’ defenceman Cayde Augustine, who’s been seeing an increase in playing time, said the Rockets need to hit hard on their opponents bodies throughout the weekend.

“We need to stick to our structure,” said Augustine. “We need to play physical, and we need to get on them fast. They’re both fast and skillful teams, if we play physical and our structure early on we will be set.”

Kelowna’s record against the two teams this season has not been what the Rockets’ had hoped. They’re down 2-1 in the season series against Everett, while Vancouver is up 4-1 throughout the season on the Rockets.

The Rockets are currently holding tight to the last playoff position in the B.C. division with 51 points. Kelowna will look to get as many points as possible against some of the West’s best this weekend to keep Kamloops, who are only four points behind the Rockets, below them in the playoff race.
