Roper claims B.C. title

Lake Country wakeboarder Keaton Roper will soon need more than just one hand to count the number of provincial wakeboarding championships he has won.

The 16-year-old Roper, a member of the Lake Country Board and Ski Club based on Wood Lake, claimed his fifth provincial title earlier this month.

Roper was competing in the junior men’s division at the B.C. Wakeboard Provincials held at Sprout Lake on Vancouver Island.

He placed first in the junior men’s competition and also claimed first place in the pro rails even and second place in the open/pro event.

Thirteen-year-old Erik Schroeder, also from the Lake Country Board and Ski Club, was also competing. Schroeder placed second in the boys event and second in the pro rails competition.

Both Roper and Schroeder were in Quebec this past weekend, competing in the national championships

The LCBSC is a non-profit organization that offers recreational and competitive programs in three-event skiing.
