Godfrey 'Steve' Bernard Stephens

Godfrey “Steve” Stephens passed away on March 25, 2010 at the age of 83 years old.

Survived by his loving wife of 58 years Aino, sons Trevor and Michael, daughter Linda, grandchildren Shannon (Stanley), Alison, Matthew and Kyra, great grandchild Hayden (Stanley), brother Sel and sister Millie (Wolff).

Steve was born in 1926 in Caerphilly, Wales (UK) and immigrated to Canada in 1928. The family settled in Moose Jaw and eventually moved to Regina, Saskatchewan.

There Steve met his future wife Aino and they married in 1952. The family moved to Kamloops in 1973 where Steve began his career with ICBC as an insurance adjuster.

Steve enjoyed fishing at local lakes for Rainbow trout and was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider Football fan. He and Aino loved to travel throughout the province and visited other countries as well over the years. He touched so many lives in a wonderful way. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

A private celebration of Steve’s life will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Lung Association, PO Box 34009, Postal Station D, Vancouver, BC, V6J 4M2 or M.A.D.D. through their website www.madd.ca or call 1-800-665-6233.
