GEORGE WINSTON COWGER
April 18,1941~April 17, 2016
George, husband, brother, father, uncle, grandpa, & great-Grandpa passed away
peacefully on April 17th at the age of 75. He was the 6th son of 9 children
born to John and Alma Cowger, in Bonanza, AB. He will be dearly missed
by his wife of 51 years Trudy, his daughters Wanda (Mark) Erickson, Shawna (Lee) Hartman, Whitney Birkett,
grandchildren Devan (Tamara), Jordan, Alex, Zachary, and Zoe and great grandsons Chase and Tucker. He is
survived by his brothers, Bill (Janet), Jim, and sister Shirley (Reg) Wheadon, sister-in-laws Donna Schafer, and Diane (Bill) Mikula. He was predeceased by four brothers, Bob, Don, Doug, and Dalbert, and his sister Marlene Aker. George worked various jobs until he
began his career at Westcoast Energy in 1961 on the pipeline in the Fort St. John area for 26 years before moving to Prince George, BC where he continued to
work until they moved to Winfield, BC. Then they started wintering in the south (Yuma) and continued to do so until the fall of 2014. George enjoyed sports, he curled for many years, and watched his children and his grandchildren play numerous sports. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 at Winfield United Church at 1:00pm.
