This Sunday Lawyer Paul Hergott will once again gather the community to commemorate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims.

Held on the third Sunday in November the day is set aside to remember people killed or seriously injured on Canadian road.

According to The Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators on average five people die on our country’s roads each day.

It was statistics like this that prompted Hergott to involved Kelowna with the National Day of Remembrance. The event has been taking place worldwide since 1993 and in 2005 the World Day was adopted by the UN General Assembly as “the appropriate acknowledgement for victims of road traffic crashes and their families”.

In Kelowna event will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Waterfront Park, by the dolphins.
