Emergency crews responded to a call at the Kelowna International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

A 737 airplane was in a maintenance flight when the crew onboard noticed a possible issue with the flap system while performing a flight check. A call was sent to emergency personnel to be on scene, said airport operating manager James Hall.

The plane landed safety with four people aboard the craft including crew members.

The distress call was issued around 4:38 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, prompting rescue vehicles to respond to the airport.

Hall said there was nothing to indicate what the cause of the problem was on the airplane.

The plane landed at 4:55 p.m.
