RCMP seek suspect after incident on Lake Country road Monday

A Lake Country resident found himself staring down the barrel of a gun while driving home Monday.

A 45-year-old man and his 72-year-old female passenger were travelling towards Lake Country on Glenmore Road at about 7:45 p.m. in their green Pontiac Sunfire when a SUV began honking, tailgating and flashing its high beams.

“While stopped at a red light, the driver of the SUV got out of his car and approached the Sunfire on the driver’s side,” said Cst. Kris Clark, wit the RCMP.

“Once on Highway 97 northbound, the SUV pulled up along side the Sunfire and the driver pointed what appeared to be a silver handgun at the Lake Country man.”

The driver is described as being a Caucasian man in his early 30s with a muscular build.

“He was wearing faded jeans and a tight black T-shirt with a silver emblem on the front,” said Clark.

“The passenger (in the SUV) could only be described as a clean-cut man.”

The SUV is described as a very clean, newer model silver, grey or metallic powder blue Porsche Cayenne with chrome rims.
