UPDATED: Motorcyclist injured in morning commute in Kelowna

Traffic was backed up briefly as the issue was dealt with.

The 28-year-old motorcyclist injured in Tuesday morning’s collision with a truck on K.L.O. Road is reported to be in stable condition.

According to Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey as of late yesterday afternoon, the rider continued to recover in hospital and his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Police are continuing to investigating the incident that occurred just before 7 a.m., and are determining whether or not speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

RCMP urge any witnesses to this crash to contact Cst. Beth Paetz, of the Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Section, at 250-762-3300.

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital morning after an early morning collision on K.L.O. Road, between Gordon Drive and Benvoulin Road.

According to witnesses on scene a City of Kelowna truck pulled out in front of a motorcycle. The driver apparently did not see the motorbike rider, who smashed into the side of the vehicle. The the impact of the crash left the bike in pieces.

City Parks workers ran out to assist the downed motorcyclist.

Traffic along K.L.O. Road was back up in both directions while emergency crews were on scene.
