The okanaganway.ca website has won a Hermes Creative Award (Gold) in the website overall/government category. The winning submission was entered by Reputations|Social (the official creative digital brand of the Reputations/Zappworx), the public relations firm contracted by the District of Lake Country to help build a vibrant new brand identity for Lake Country.
The Hermes Creative Awards are administered and judged by the U.S.-based Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals and recognize excellence in the industry.
“We share this honour with the community of Lake Country as they continue to live life the Okanagan Way,” said Linda Bilben, partner and creative director at Reputations|Social.
This Gold International Creative Award for Lake Country’s redesigned website acknowledges the excellence of the high-impact, visual website that conveys the region’s beautiful natural surroundings and dynamic community life.
It is notable that the website is linked to a range of social media profiles, allowing social media and the website to work in tandem to build new audiences and actively participate in relevant conversations online.
“The District of Lake Country wanted to advance a tourism marketing and economic development strategy that would speak to residents, investors and tourists” said Mark Koch, director of planning and development for the municipality. “And we are very pleased with the feedback received from the community on the outstanding work done by the Reputations team in consultation with staff and community stakeholders.”
“It certainly is a beautiful site. Congratulations on a real team effort,” added Geoff Greenwell, CEO, 2G Group of Companies and a previous District of Lake Country councillor and chair of the economic planning and development committee that led the website and branding projects.
The okanaganway.ca highlights the rich culture and history of the four distinct neighbourhoods that comprise Lake Country. It includes a calendar that is continually updated with current events that residents, businesses and visitors need to know about.
