Shooting in Lake Country

One man is in Hospital, the other in Police custody, after a shooting in Lake Country last night.

 

A 911 emergency call came in to police at around 7:45 p.m. on March 3rd, when a 59 year old male, who lives in the 10,000 block of Hwy 97, attended the complainant's residence and asked her to call for help.

 

Police quickly attended the residence and, shortly thereafter, arrested the 59 year old man. Police located the victim, a 44 year old man who lives with 59 year old. He  was bleeding from an apparent gun shot wound to his right leg. Police officers immediately began first aid until Ambulance crews arrived.

 

The victim was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital  where he underwent surgery to deal with the injury. He is expected to survive.

 

The Police investigation is still in it's early stages, with respect to the circumstances and any possible charges. The man who was arrested remains in police custody.

 

More information will be revealed once it is known.
