Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp to tour

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Bob Dylan will be joined by country icon Willie Nelson and rocker John Mellencamp on a concert tour at minor league baseball parks this summer, Dylan's record label said on Friday.

The trio's 22-date tour starts with a July 2 show in Sauget, Illinois, and ends August 15 in Stockton, California.

Columbia Records announced the tour ahead of the release of Dylan's latest album "Together Through Life" this Tuesday.

The Bob Dylan Show will bypass major metropolitan areas such as New York and Los Angeles, stopping instead in smaller cities like Pawtucket, Rhode Island; South Bend, Indiana; Dayton, Ohio and Round Rock, Texas, among others.

The show repeats tours of minor league stadiums the 67-year-old Dylan made in 2004 and 2006.

Dylan, whose incessant performing schedule has been called the "Never Ending Tour," has played more than 100 concerts a year for the past 15 years, Columbia said.

This will be the second time in 24 years that Dylan, Nelson and Mellencamp will have shared the concert stage.

Dylan has won a Kennedy Center Honor, while Mellencamp has amassed 22 Top 40 hit songs and Nelson has won seven Grammys.
