World of Wheels 2024 is pulling into West Kelowna on May 19 at Kinsmen Park.

The event will be more than just vehicles of all makes, models and years. It will also be a positive get-together for the whole family, says organizer Pam Cunningham.

After years of planning a car show in a smaller community, the World of Wheels is going bigger to allow for more cars and more fun.

Cunningham says organizers wanted to make more of a community event in Shannon Lakes, with a kids zone, music, an Elvis impersonator from Vancouver, a beer garden, food trucks and vendors.

“There will be something for everybody, we will have the cars, the bouncer castle and then we will also support non-profits that need support with sales of raffle tickets,” explained Cunningham.

West Kelowna Mayor Gord Milson will also be on-site to pick a trophy for the best car. The winner will have their car placed on a t-shirt for next year’s event World of Wheels 2025.

“This is the first time we have done this in West Kelowna,” said Cunningham. “We outgrew our last location so we are trying this location and it will be positive.”

There is plenty of parking for attendees who can find a map online at https://www.westkelownacarshow.com/.

Registration is available online and on the day of the show for $20. Cunningham says there will be swag bags for those who enter their car and they will be able to park on several sports fields the day of the event.

She says she is also mindful of those living in the neighbourhood and assures there will be plenty of access for residents.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. rain or shine.
