Kelowna Venturer Scout Nicolas Griffin was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Venturer Award presented by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, to recognize the outstanding achievements among Venturer Scouts.

Scouts from across British Columbia were awarded last Saturday at the 62nd annual award ceremony in Victoria.

The annual awards were bestowed by the Governor General of Canada, who serves as Scouts Canada’s Patron Scout, to recognize the outstanding achievements among Venturer Scouts (ages 14-17).

The Honourable Judith Guichon presented the awards to 70 recipients. The ceremony was celebrated as a Canada 150 event hosted by the Government House of British Columbia in partnership with Scouts Canada.

Scouts from Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Delta, Kamloops, Kelowna, North Vancouver, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Terrace, Vancouver and Victoria received awards.
