Get ready to make a splash for a good cause.

Junior Chamber International will host a dunk tank at the annual Sunshine Festival Saturday on 30th Avenue.

Canadian Mental Health Association executive director Julia Payson, a recent returnee to Vernon, will show her community spirit by volunteering to be dunked from noon until 12:30 p.m..

Also joining Payson in stepping up to the tank will be North Okanagaqn-Shuswap MP Mel Arnold and Lumby Mayor Kevin Acton from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..

JCI’s goal is to raise $1,300 for chairtable efforts supported by the organization.

“I encourage everyone to come out and dunk Julia Payson and all our other brave volunteers for a great cause,” said Brett Ziemer, event organizer.

JCI Vernon is a group filled with individuals that participate in projects around the world to contribute positive change with their training, event building and networking.

The Sunshine Festival is hosted by the Downtown Vernon Association.
